Reuters
Ltd., considered the world's largest supplier of news
and professional financial information, purchased Reality-Online,
the makers of Wealthbuilder, Reuters Money Network and
later MoneyNet.com. This was my break into the Internet,
which I owe to the then VP of Presentation Development,
Nick
DiLisi.
As
Creative Director, my group had responsibility for MoneyNet.com
and other programs under the Reuters Web Development
and Operations Group in Norristown, PA.
My
duties included the direction of web application design
for the MoneyNet site, a personal investment software
information portal, and some professional application
for the New York and London offices.
The
Creative Department consisted of HTML, Graphics, Technical
Writing (also did online help and provided technical
legacy documentation and white papers). Most of the
work consisted of interface design, web graphics, collateral
material and business presentation graphics. Reuters
later left the personal investment arena. MoneyNet and
the other consumer-based products no longer exist.

Fogel/Jordon
was a global manufacturer of commercial, industrial
and scientific refrigerators. My formal title was Director
of Marketing and I worked closely, on a daily basis,
with the owner and President Wm. Fogel Sr. (one of the
most interesting individuals I have ever met). Fogel/Jordon
dominated South America's commercial needs and had a
large foothold in the U.S. scientific and defense market.
My
duties included working directly with the CEO to develop
brand and to initiate a product database. I managed
marketing and sales department. Additional responsibilities
included development of national marketing plans and
company wide manufacturing forecast. I directed exhibitions
and shows and was responsible for the creation of all
printed collateral materials.
Operations
ceased as Jordon and their parent company (Fogel) was
purchased by a competitor. Their brand names have survived.
